New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association Dr. George Irving Memorial Award

The New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association Dr. George Irving Memorial Award is granted on an annual basis to a student who has completed their first year of the veterinary medicine program and is a resident of New Brunswick. This award honors Dr. George Irving, a longstanding and proud member of the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association who passed away in December 2018. Dr. Irving served on the CVMA executive for several years and sat on the Council on Education for the American Veterinary Medical Association. His greatest passion was horse racing, and he was involved in every aspect of the Standardbred horse industry. The NBVMA established this memorial award in the spring of 2021 to honour his work with the association and his dedication to the veterinary profession.
