About this opportunity

Granted on an annual basis to a student who has completed their first year of the veterinary medicine program and is a resident of New Brunswick. The NBVMA is the regulatory body for veterinarians and the practice of veterinary medicine in New Brunswick. Dr. Irving, a longstanding and proud member of the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, passed away in December 2018. He served on the CVMA executive for several years and also sat on the Council on Education for the American Veterinary Medical Association. George was on the board of the Moncton SPCA and over the years several committees related to Atlantic harness racing. George's greatest passion was horse racing and he was involved in every aspect of the Standardbred horse industry. In the spring of 2021, the NBVMA established the Dr. George Irving Memorial Award to honour his work with the association and his dedication to the veterinarian profession.
