New Member Scholarship

The New Member Scholarship is offered by the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) to school nurses who join the organization for the first time. This scholarship was established in 2001 to promote NASN membership and support new members' attendance at the NASN annual conference. New members joining between April 1st and March 31st are automatically entered into a random drawing with no application required beyond the membership application. NASN awards two scholarships annually: one scholarship not to exceed $1,500 to attend the current year's in-person annual conference, covering registration, travel, and lodging expenses, and one scholarship to participate in the current year's virtual conference. Winners are selected through a random drawing in April, and recipient names are communicated to the NASN membership. The scholarship aims to attract new members to NASN, resulting in greater revenue, visibility, and influence for the organization while welcoming new school nurses into the nationwide professional community.
