About this opportunity
This scholarship is funded by the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research (NZIER) and has been established to support students studying economics who have an interest in the Māori economy or issues affecting Māori. The scholarship is available to students enrolled in a full-time programme with courses in Finance, Economics, Business or Commerce at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship is valued at $7,500 and may be held for up to 2 years of undergraduate study depending on the year of study in which the scholarship commences. The highest performing students in their year for economics and finance courses will have preference, and applicants must demonstrate an interest in the Māori economy, issues affecting Māori, and an interest in working in Māori economics in the future. The successful recipient may also receive an offer of mentorship from NZIER in Wellington, subject to business requirements.
