About This Opportunity

The Ngāti Koata Science Scholarship is a collaborative initiative between Ngāti Koata and Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington to support the next generation of scientists. The scholarship is funded by The Zoological Society of San Diego and was established to support Ngāti Koata students studying towards a Bachelor of Science. The scholarship provides $5,000 in financial support for one year to eligible students. Applicants must be registered members of Ngāti Koata and enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science (Honours) program at Victoria University of Wellington. Selection is based on meeting the eligibility criteria of being a registered member of the Ngāti Koata Trust and pursuing a qualifying science degree. Recipients are expected to write a thank you letter to the donor and act as ambassadors for the university.
