About this opportunity
This scholarship provides financial support to postgraduate research students and staff undertaking research in Greek language, culture or history in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. The scholarship was established in 2014 from the estate of Nicholas Anthony Aroney to provide financial assistance to Masters by Research students, PhD students and academics who are undertaking research which provides and/or promotes learning and education in Greek language, culture or history, whether in Greece or Australia. The scholarship funds expenses such as travel for primary research, research assistance, purchase and/or reproduction of research materials, and activities to showcase research outputs. Preference is given to research projects and activities that focus on or consider Greek traditions, principles, and examples of democracy, and profile and explore other historical and geographical instances of democratic and anti-democratic theories and practices in a critical and comparative way.
