Nicholas Carr Bergstein Scholarship

The Nicholas Carr Bergstein Scholarship supports undergraduate students majoring in History at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with preference given to individuals planning a career in teaching. Special consideration is given to students enrolled in the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP) at UMass Amherst, as well as candidates interested in pursuing careers in higher education. The scholarship also prioritizes students involved with mentoring, tutoring, or those considered to be commendable teaching assistants. Additionally, applicants who have shown a demonstrated commitment to diversity and tolerance through volunteer work, academics, or a combination of other endeavors are given special consideration. Recipients may reapply in subsequent years, making this a potentially renewable opportunity for qualified students.
