NOIC Scholarship for Sustainability and Environmental Science

The North Otago Irrigation Company (NOIC) awards an annual $1500 scholarship to students whose course of study has a focus on sustainability, environmental science, agricultural innovation, environmental management or areas of engineering and science leading to roles with the potential to create better environmental outcomes for New Zealand. The scholarship is open to any year 12 or year 13 student with a connection to the Waitaki District who is continuing on to tertiary education. The scholarship was established to promote environmental management and stewardship among young people. Aqus, which supports the irrigation schemes including NOIC, plays a vital role in the local district by helping provide certainty in farming so farmers have confidence to invest, driving positive economic and social outcomes throughout the Waitaki district's rural and urban communities.
