About This Opportunity
The Nordic call for exploratory networks within humanities and social sciences (NOS-HS) is designed to facilitate collaboration among researchers with strong potential for synergy across the Nordic countries. The initiative seeks to fund 22 networks that strengthen the quality, innovative character, international competitiveness, and societal impact of Nordic research. The call is open to bottom-up, curiosity-driven research networks within the humanities and social sciences in the Nordic region, with a particular emphasis on providing opportunities for early-career researchers (2–7 years after completion of their PhD) to build and lead Nordic networks. The program operates under the auspices of NordForsk and is organized by the Joint Committee for Nordic research councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS-HS), which represents research councils in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Network proposals will be evaluated using a distributed peer review process (DPR), where applicants serve as both reviewers and have their proposals reviewed by other applicants to the call.
