North Nova Scotia Highlanders Memory Club Bursary

The North Nova Scotia Highlanders Memory Club Bursary is awarded to a full-time UPEI student on the basis of demonstrated financial need. The North Nova Scotia Highlanders was formed in June 1940 from four units of 18 Highland Brigade N.P.A.M., including the Prince Edward Island Highlanders. The unit participated in World War II, landing in Normandy on D-Day (June 6, 1944) and serving until the war ended on May 8, 1945. The veterans of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders Memory Club support three bursaries in the Atlantic Region, and this is one of them. This bursary honors the military service and sacrifice of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders while providing financial assistance to students pursuing their education at the University of Prince Edward Island.
