About This Opportunity

A government loan of up to £5,500 for students ordinarily living in Northern Ireland undertaking a master's degree, postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma at any UK university. The loan is paid directly to the university by the Student Loans Company and can be used towards the cost of tuition fees. Students can choose to study full-time or part-time programmes lasting up to three years. Unlike other government loans for postgraduate study, there is no age limit for this loan, and students can apply even if they have completed a postgraduate level qualification in the past. The loan can be combined with other funding sources including Professional and Career Development Loans, Disabled Students' Allowance, university scholarships, charitable grants, and NHS bursaries. However, applicants cannot have more than one student loan at the same time. Repayment begins in the April after graduation at 9% of income over £19,895 per year, with repayments automatically deducted from monthly salary along with income tax and National Insurance.
