About this opportunity
The Northumbria Support Bursary is a financial support program for UK/Home students applying to study at Northumbria University on a Full-Time Undergraduate course in the academic year 2026/27. Successful students will receive £1,500 per year, paid in instalments throughout years one, two and three, to a total of £4,500. This additional support is designed to help students focus on their studies and assist with budgeting. The bursary is automatically awarded to all self-funded students who meet the eligibility criteria. The bursary is specifically targeted at students currently studying at six designated institutions in the North East of England during the 2025/26 academic year who are expected to complete in Summer 2026. These institutions include Middlesbrough College, City of Sunderland College, East Durham College, Bede Sixth Form College, Hartlepool College of Further Education, and Hartlepool Sixth Form College. Students do not need to apply for the bursary as eligibility checks are carried out post-enrolment and qualified students are automatically awarded. The bursary is paid as bank transfers in three instalments: 25% by the end of November, 25% by the end of February, and 50% by the end of May each academic year.
