About This Opportunity

The Northumbria Undergraduate Award provides financial support to UK/Home students applying to study full-time undergraduate courses at Northumbria University starting in September 2026. The award primarily targets underrepresented and disadvantaged students in Higher Education. Successful students will receive a total of £4,000 paid in instalments throughout years one, two, and three to help them focus on their studies and assist with budgeting. The award is designed to help students achieve their goals and create a better future. Eligibility is based on meeting at least one of three characteristics: living in a neighbourhood with low progression to higher education, being from a Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic background, or having declared a physical/mental health condition, long-term illness, or learning difference. All eligible self-funded students who meet these criteria and submit an application will be shortlisted and considered.
