About this opportunity
Beginning in academic year 2024-2025, this award will be granted to a veterinary medicine student entering third year who graduated from a Nova Scotia high school and who received the highest grade in Public Health during first year. The Nova Scotia Feather Boards (Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia, Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia, Hatching Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia, and Turkey Farmers of Nova Scotia) have established these awards to acknowledge the valuable role poultry veterinarians play within their industry and create awareness among veterinary students of the opportunities available in poultry medicine. The poultry industry in Nova Scotia is a thriving, sustainable sector that is expected to contribute to the province's rural economies for years to come. Poultry farmers rely on veterinarians to help them maintain healthy flocks and meet stringent national animal care and food safety requirements.
