About this opportunity

The Strømsø Neighborhood Grant is part of a community development initiative targeting district 7 in Drammen (Strømsø below Vestfoldbanen: Grønland, Marienlyst, Brandengen and Tangen). The program aims to increase residents' well-being and quality of life by facilitating area development that strengthens physical and social neighborhood qualities, considers climate concerns, and develops green areas for outdoor recreation. The initiative seeks to reduce social inequality. This grant program is directed at volunteers and other actors who wish to implement social, physical, and general cultural initiatives that contribute to creating inclusive and safe neighborhoods. The program provides funding for both physical projects (up to 60,000 NOK) and social/cultural projects (up to 30,000 NOK). Examples of funded activities include neighborhood festivals, park benches, lighting, cultural events such as theater performances, concerts and festivals, neighborhood gardens, class parties, upgrading of common areas, facade beautification, and purchase of activity-creating equipment. The program prioritizes projects that create local engagement and volunteer effort, strengthen residents' sense of belonging to the neighborhood, facilitate open and inclusive meeting places, and strengthen physical and social neighborhood qualities in the district.
