About This Opportunity

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and its corporate partners award over one million dollars in scholarships each Spring and Fall cycle. These scholarships support Black students pursuing STEM degrees across various engineering and technology disciplines. The program offers multiple scholarship opportunities ranging from $500 to $7,000 for high school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students who are NSBE members. Scholarships are available for students across all six NSBE regions in the United States, with eligibility varying by academic classification, major, GPA requirements, and residency status. Awards support students in fields including aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and many other STEM disciplines. Some scholarships are renewable and sponsored by corporate partners such as Honeywell, Cargill, Deloitte Foundation, Arup, and Ramboll. Applicants must be NSBE members with verified GPAs (ranging from 2.0 to 3.5 minimum depending on the scholarship) and must apply through the NSBE scholarship portal. The program emphasizes academic excellence through its Academic Pyramid of Excellence (Apex) levels, recognizing students at Honors (3.6-4.0), Torchbearer (3.2-3.5), and Excel (3.0-3.1) achievement levels.
