About this opportunity
The NSERC Awards for Science Promotion honour individuals and groups who make an outstanding contribution to the promotion of science in Canada through activities encouraging popular interest in science or developing science abilities. Two recipients (one individual and one group) may be selected for the awards each year. The awards recognize individuals and groups who inspire others by promoting science to the general public through activities such as organizing science camps, fairs, clubs or mentorship programs, enhancing equity and diversity in programs, creating learning materials, sharing best practices for outreach, developing co-op programs, arranging demonstrations and lectures, writing books or articles, creating media programs, and engaging the public through multimedia. Nominees must have made a sustained effort to encourage public interest in the natural sciences and engineering, typically being involved in science promotion for at least five years outside the formal education system.
