About This Opportunity

The Canada Graduate Research Scholarships Doctoral (CGRS-D) provides financial support to high calibre scholars who are engaged in a doctoral program in the natural sciences or engineering. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields. The scholarship provides $40,000 per year for up to three years, with an additional bonus of $5,000 lump sum payment from the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at the beginning of each year of the award. The program is administered by NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) as part of the Tri-Council scholarship program. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, though up to 15% of awards across Canada are available to international applicants who are enrolled in their doctoral program at an eligible Canadian institution by the application deadline.
