Nurse Corps Scholarship Program

Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Health Workforce Original Source

About This Opportunity

The Nurse Corps Scholarship Program provides financial support to eligible nursing students pursuing nursing degrees at accredited U.S. schools of nursing. If accepted, the program pays tuition, eligible fees, and reasonable educational costs (including books, clinical supplies/instruments, and uniforms), along with a monthly living stipend. In return, after graduation, scholarship recipients commit to working at an eligible health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses, specifically facilities located in, designated as, or serving a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). This program addresses the ongoing need for nurses throughout the United States, particularly in underserved communities where many Americans lack access to necessary health care including checkups, preventive screenings, and vaccines. Funding preference is given to applicants who demonstrate the greatest financial need. The entire scholarship award is taxable and reported to the IRS.
