About this opportunity
The NWRI Fellowship Program awards funds to graduate students conducting water research in the United States. The program supports research on membrane technology and desalination, partnering with the American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) and Southern California Salinity Coalition (SCSC). Two specific fellowship tracks are available: the NWRI-AMTA Graduate Fellowship for Membrane Technology focuses on advancement of membrane technology in water, wastewater, or water reuse industries, including membrane bioreactors, fouling and scaling control, efficiency, pretreatment processes, and membrane materials. The NWRI-Southern California Salinity Coalition Graduate Fellowship supports research addressing the critical need to remove or reduce salts from water supplies and preserve water resources in Southern California, covering topics such as concentrate management, institutional and regulatory/policy issues, economic analysis, and innovative treatment technologies. Fellowships are funded by NWRI Fellowship Funding Partners and NWRI Member Agencies. AMTA fellowship recipients are required to attend the AMTA/AWWA Membrane Technology Conference as part of their award obligations.
