NZDA National Game Animal Research Fund

The NZDA National Game Animal Research Fund is a formalised funding program that awards cash grants to support game animal research aligned with NZDA's strategic direction. The fund is freely contestable and available to all NZDA members, branches, and non-NZDA members alike. Research areas include social, cultural and political research relating to hunting, ecological impact studies, herd of special interest studies, systems/processes/technology supporting sustainable hunting, and education resource development relating to game animals. Funding is awarded based on the applicant's alignment with strategic direction in game animal research, their potential for or record of research, and requires formal application with grantee accountability and reporting of findings. Applications are accepted annually from July 31 to October 31, with decisions made by December 15 and funds available from March 1 the following year.
