About this opportunity
The O'Brien Health Sciences Admission Excellence Award is offered annually to undergraduate students entering their first year of post-secondary studies in the Cumming School of Medicine, Bachelor of Health Sciences program at the University of Calgary. The award, which totals $7,000, is divided between students entering Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, and Health and Society concentrations.
Applicants must demonstrate exceptional academic merit based on high school grades, with a conditional requirement of a final admission average of at least 85.5% to the Bachelor of Health Sciences program. Beyond academic excellence, candidates must also show demonstrated community service, excellence in athletics, or relevant work experience.
This award is made possible through the generous support of donors David and Gail O'Brien. It recognizes outstanding incoming students who have excelled both academically and through their contributions to their communities or other pursuits, providing financial support as they begin their journey in health sciences education.
