Oil Sands Reclamation Scholarship

The Oil Sands Reclamation Scholarship is awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the second or third year of the BSc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences (Land Reclamation major) program in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta. The recipient will be chosen on the basis of academic standing and demonstrated interest, ability, and aptitude in the area of land reclamation, with a preference for those focused on oil sands reclamation. This scholarship was endowed by funds from the 2001 Syncrude/ASTech Innovation in Oil Sands Technology Award received by Dr. Don Sheeran and the Suncor Energy Foundation, reflecting a commitment to supporting the next generation of environmental scientists specializing in land reclamation.
