About this opportunity

The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program encourages excellence in graduate studies at publicly-assisted universities in Ontario. Since 1975, the OGS program has been providing merit-based scholarships to Ontario's best graduate students in all disciplines of academic study. The scholarship program at the University of Toronto is jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and the University of Toronto. The Province allocates OGS awards to universities specifying the number of awards that each may offer to their students annually. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents, Protected Persons, or international students with valid study permits, and must be registered or intend to register in an eligible full-time graduate program at the University of Toronto. Students must have achieved at least an A- average in each of the last two completed years of study. The award supports both Master's and Doctoral level students across all disciplines. The selection process evaluates relevant experience and achievements (40%), plan of study (30%), and academic assessment reports (30%). Graduate students who are Black and/or Indigenous to Canada are eligible for automatic inclusion in the SGS Inclusive Excellence Graduate Scholarship competition, with approximately 25 awards made available annually through this opportunity.
