About this opportunity

This funding opportunity aims to strengthen knowledge about the Sami people and national minorities, their living conditions, and relations to the majority society in Norway. The program builds on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's report, which documents how Norwegianization policies have created lasting inequalities, discrimination, and marginalization. The initiative seeks new, interdisciplinary research that addresses these issues across multiple sectors including climate, environment and green energy, nature and resource management, language, culture, welfare, education, and working life. Research should promote recognition and reconciliation through knowledge-based and sustainable societal solutions. Where relevant, research on public administration, equitable services, policy formulation, and perspectives on non-discrimination, equality and diversity should be integrated. The goal is to strengthen the knowledge base for justice, recognition and reconciliation, and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable society.
