About This Opportunity

The Ornua Scholarship is offered for students pursuing the MSc Sustainable Development, Agri-Food and Co-operatives at University College Cork. The scholarship is provided by Ornua, an Irish dairy co-operative and Ireland's largest exporter of Irish dairy products, which markets and sells dairy products on behalf of Ireland's dairy processors and Irish dairy farmers. With annualised sales of over €3.4 billion and a global team of 3,000 employees operating in 110 countries worldwide, Ornua understands the critical role of education in continuing to grow Ireland's agri-food sector. The scholarship provides €16,000 per student, which includes full MSc programme fees and a stipend. The practical emphasis of the course equips participants with the skills required to make innovative contributions to the development of both local and global economies. This scholarship is open to all EU/UK students who have been offered and accepted a place on the MSc Sustainable Development, Agri-Food and Co-operatives programme. Applicants must secure a minimum Second Class Honours Grade 2 in an approved primary degree or equivalent. The application requires a short personal statement (maximum 500 words) addressing the impact of achieving the scholarship, reasons for applying, academic background, previous achievements, and future career ambitions. A shortlist of students will be chosen for interviews with the programme co-directors and representatives from Ornua. Applicants must name at least two referees - one academic and one professional.
