Otto Degener Scholarship

The Otto Degener Scholarship was established by the late Don H. Smith '34 in honor of Dr. Degener, the botanist on staff at the university. The scholarship provides support for one or more students in one of the life sciences on the Amherst campus, with preference for students of botany or biology. Recipients must have demonstrated financial need and academic excellence. Applicants are automatically considered based on their completed General Application through the University of Massachusetts Amherst Scholarships platform.
