About this opportunity
The Outstanding Library Student Employee Award recognizes exceptional student employees working in the University of Minnesota Libraries. Sponsored by the Friends of the Libraries, this award honors students who provide continuous excellence of job performance and exceed regular job expectations through unique contributions. Three student employees are selected annually to receive this recognition. The award seeks to acknowledge student employees who demonstrate superior performance in all job responsibilities, take strong initiative, and make exceptional contributions to the Libraries. Nominees from diverse backgrounds and those working on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access related projects are particularly encouraged to apply. All student employees of the Libraries are eligible regardless of position, level of responsibility, or size of unit.

Review process
Staff members submit nominations describing the student's job, excellence in performance, and distinguishing qualities. Nominated students must submit a 300-word statement about how their library work has impacted their academic/personal experience or future plans. An Awards Committee selects three recipients.
