About this opportunity
The Outstanding Public Service Award is presented by the Archaeological Institute of America to recognize exceptional contributions that promote public understanding of, interest in, and support for archaeology and the preservation of the archaeological record. The award honors individuals, organizations, institutions, or corporations that have made significant impacts in the field of archaeological heritage protection, public education, cultural diplomacy, or combating the illicit antiquities trade. Recipients are celebrated at the AIA's Annual Meeting Awards Ceremony in January. At the discretion of the reviewing committee, the award may or may not be presented annually.
