The scholarship provides financial support to students from central Georgia counties who choose to attend the University of Alabama, reflecting Allen's commitment to education and his alma mater. Recipients are selected based on their essay about choosing the University of Alabama, their ability to balance academic and extracurricular activities, and demonstrated financial need. Prior recipients can renew the scholarship for up to four years of their education career, provided they maintain eligibility requirements including a minimum 2.5 GPA and complete all required follow-ups.
