Park Spring Wind Farm Community Benefits Fund

The Park Spring Wind Farm Community Benefits Fund is intended to improve the physical, built or social environment of the local area around the Park Spring Wind Farm in the North East of Barnsley. The fund particularly supports projects involving capital items with tangible and lasting benefit including improvements to community buildings, bio-diversity and habitat conservation, energy conservation and increased use of renewables, and other community-based or community-led projects which meet identified local needs and issues. All projects funded must benefit residents within a 3km boundary of the windfarm site, with priority given to projects within 3km including Great Houghton, Little Houghton, Grimethorpe, Darfield, Billingley and parts of Cudworth. Projects within a 5km boundary may also apply if some beneficiaries reside within the 3km area. The fund supports improvements to community buildings such as new roofs or redecoration of village halls, and improvement and maintenance of recreational facilities like sports equipment for local clubs.
