Pat Kelly Enviroschools Action Fund

The Pat Kelly Enviroschools Action Fund was re-named in memory of the former Councillor Pat Kelly who was a strong supporter of the Enviroschools programme. This fund supports sustainability projects from official Enviroschools in the Horizons Region of New Zealand. The Enviroschools programme aims to equip youth with the competencies they need to be leaders in sustainability. Funding criteria is very broad but should link in some way to the Enviroschools kaupapa (purpose/philosophy). Examples of projects funded in the past include purchasing fruit trees to set up school or community orchards, funding towards new glasshouses, and purchasing worm farms or recycling bins to tackle waste streams. Applications are only accepted through the online application form. The fund is currently open for applications for the 2025-26 period.
