About this opportunity
The Patrick Joseph McDonald Memorial Award is granted to an undergraduate student who is normally resident in Canada and enrolled in full-time study in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, Business (business administration), or Faculty of Arts (majoring in economics). The award is provided to the student in the greatest financial need, with preference given to students normally resident in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or Newfoundland and Labrador. This award was established by Hugh McDonald in memory of his father, Patrick Joseph McDonald, BBA '93 at UPEI, who had a distinguished career in project management and information technology with the Government of Canada. Patrick worked for three Prime Ministers' Offices and two Clerks of Privy Council Offices and spoke internationally on information technology applications. He received many awards for his professional abilities and community involvement before passing away on October 14, 2023.
