Patty Gainer Memorial Convocating Scholarship in Clinical Dental Hygiene

The Patty Gainer Memorial Convocating Scholarship in Clinical Dental Hygiene is awarded to students with superior academic achievement who are convocating with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alberta. This scholarship recognizes excellence in both academic performance and clinical practice. Selection is based on three key criteria: academic standing, demonstrated excellence in periodontal care with local anesthesia, and demonstrated empathy and compassion for patients shown during clinical experience. The scholarship honors the memory of Patty Gainer and supports graduating dental hygiene students who exemplify both technical excellence and patient-centered care. The award is made possible through annual funds donated by Timothy Carmichael and is administered through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. Students are automatically considered for this scholarship based on their completed General Application through the University of Alberta's scholarship portal.
