About this opportunity
The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans is a prestigious graduate fellowship program designed for immigrants and children of immigrants pursuing full-time graduate and professional degrees at accredited institutions in the United States. The fellowship supports all types of graduate and professional degrees, from science and medicine to music and humanities. Each year, 30 Fellows are selected from approximately 3,000 applicants through a competitive process that includes application review and finalist interviews.
The program provides substantial financial support including stipend and tuition funding for graduate studies. Fellows also become part of a vibrant community of over 800 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellows, gaining access to networking opportunities and the annual Fall Conference (all expenses paid). The fellowship emphasizes the unique experiences and contributions of New Americans to American society and seeks candidates who demonstrate creativity, accomplishment, and commitment to the United States.
Applicants can apply while applying to graduate school or during their first two years of an academic program. The application requires two essays (focusing on New American experiences and career goals), three to five recommendations, transcripts, standardized test scores, and a resume/CV. The application is free and applicants may apply more than once.
