About This Opportunity

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans is a prestigious fellowship program that supports immigrants and children of immigrants pursuing graduate or professional degrees in the United States. The Fellowship provides financial support for graduate education across all fields of study at accredited U.S. institutions. Applicants must demonstrate their experiences as New Americans, whether as immigrants themselves or as children of immigrants, and articulate how these experiences have shaped their identity and accomplishments. The program selects 30 Fellows annually from a highly competitive pool of over 3,000 applicants. Fellows receive stipend and tuition support for their graduate studies, along with access to a vibrant community of over 800 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellows. The Fellowship also provides networking opportunities through events such as the annual Fall Conference, which is attended by all new Fellows with expenses paid. The application process involves submitting two essays (each up to 1,000 words), a resume/CV, transcripts, standardized test scores (if required by the graduate program), and 3-5 letters of recommendation. The top 77 applicants are designated as finalists and invited to virtual interviews. From these finalists, 30 are selected as Fellows.
