Paul Niessen-Teck Award

This award is in memory of Professor Paul Niessen, a distinguished member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering who had a long association with Cominco Ltd. The award consists of a medal and up to $2,000 and is awarded annually to one or two students who demonstrate leadership and skill in the Materials Science and Manufacturing Laboratories of the Department. Candidates should be enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering graduate program in the year preceding the award. Students are selected automatically by the Faculty/Department without requiring a separate application. Nominations should be submitted to the Chair of Mechanical Engineering in January of each year.
