About This Opportunity

This scholarship has been established in memory of Professor Paul Seligman. It will be awarded annually to a first year graduate student in Philosophy. Special consideration will be given to students who have already demonstrated excellence in the areas that Professor Paul Seligman had worked in, most notably ancient philosophy, Jewish thought, and the philosophy of religion. All newly-admitted first-year graduate students in Philosophy will be eligible for the award. The scholarship is automatically awarded by the Faculty/Department, with announcements expected by June 30 each year. This memorial scholarship honors the legacy of Professor Seligman's scholarly contributions to ancient philosophy, Jewish thought, and philosophy of religion. Eligible students are those entering their first year of graduate studies in Philosophy at the University of Waterloo, pursuing either Masters or Doctoral degrees.
