About this opportunity
The Paul Thistlewaite Memorial Honours Year Scholarship is offered annually by the ANU College of Systems and Society to encourage ongoing academic achievement of high-performing Honours students in computing and software engineering fields. The scholarship provides financial support with a preference given to female candidates to support gender equity within the field. Funding for this Award has been provided by the Thistlewaite Family and a range of donors in memory of Dr Paul Thistlewaite who has a long held affinity with ANU, particularly within the field of Computer Science. Selection for the scholarship is based on academic merit with preference being given to the best academically qualified female student undertaking Honours in the area of Advanced Information Systems or Human Centred Computing including Big Data and Machine Learning. If there is no eligible female student, then the scholarship may be awarded to the best qualified male student. The award provides $5,000 per annum for one year to support students enrolled full-time in an Honours Year of computing or software engineering programs at ANU.
