About This Opportunity

The Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship is a $10,000 architecture scholarship supporting a woman studying architecture within a NAAB-accredited bachelor or master's degree program. To help the scholarship recipient establish contacts within the profession, she will be assigned a senior mentor from Payette for the scholarship year. This scholarship honors Sho-Ping Chin, FAIA, who was a leader in AIA and a long-time principal and healthcare practice leader at Payette. Sho-Ping was a talented and compassionate architect who was fiercely determined to design healthcare architecture of the highest caliber for those in need. She was also a wonderful mentor and instilled in her teams a sense of camaraderie and commitment to design. As the founding leader of the AIA Women's Leadership Summit, held biennially, Sho-Ping was instrumental in defining the national discourse for Women in Design.
