Scholarship

Payne Wardlaw Scholarship for Medicine

University of St Andrews Original Source

About This Opportunity

This scholarship was established by a generous donation from Dr Alison Payne 1982, in memory of Dr L Robert Payne 1957, in order to support students of Medicine, with a preference for those undertaking the ScotCOM medical programme. Priority will be given to former refugees or those who have experienced forced migration, of whatever background. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The scholarship provides £4,400 per year paid as maintenance and can be used towards University accommodation fees. Maintenance is paid in ten monthly instalments directly to your bank account from September to May. This award is paid annually for the duration of the student's undergraduate programme.
