About This Opportunity
The PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women Engineering Bursary is awarded to women studying Engineering at UPEI, in recognition and support of women pursuing non-traditional fields. This bursary was established in 1995 by the Government of PEI on the twentieth Anniversary of the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women. The bursary supports the efforts of the PEI Advisory Council's work to encourage girls to choose careers in Math and Science fields. The bursary also pays tribute to the fourteen women engineering students who were murdered at L'Ecole Polytechnique in 1989. The bursary is awarded to a female entering third year who maintains a passing average and demonstrates financial need.
