About this opportunity
The PEI Retired Teachers Association Entrance Award is granted each year to a student entering the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program who is in financial need. The recipient must have attended a Prince Edward Island high school during their secondary education years. The PEI Retired Teachers' Association (PEIRTA) has been in existence for decades with primary objectives to assist its members in staying abreast of developments in education, maintaining professional contacts, and meeting with government regarding improved terms for retired teachers. Members of the PEIRTA act as volunteers in their communities, host many activities and provide financial support to future teachers through scholarships and awards. In addition to its endowed entrance scholarship and annually funded graduation prize, the PEIRTA generously decided to establish this award in support of a B.Ed. entrance student.
