About this opportunity
The PEI Retired Teachers' Association Scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program at the University of Prince Edward Island. The scholarship is specifically designed to support students who attended a Prince Edward Island high school during their secondary education years. The award recognizes the highest ranking student based on their first undergraduate degree who is not already receiving a major donor-funded award. The PEI Retired Teachers' Association has been in existence for decades with primary objectives to assist its members in staying abreast of developments in education, maintaining professional contacts, and meeting with government regarding improved terms for retired teachers. Members of the PEIRTA act as volunteers in their communities, host many activities, and provide financial support to future teachers through scholarships and awards like this one.
