About this opportunity
Each year Peterhouse awards several Postgraduate Studentships fully funded by the College. These highly competitive awards are available for PhD study at Cambridge University, covering both fees and maintenance for up to three years. Approximately four studentships are awarded annually from fifty or more applications. Successful candidates typically have achieved a good First or GPA of at least 3.75 or equivalent.
The studentships are structured as 'top up' awards, meaning if a candidate has partial funding from elsewhere, Peterhouse will supplement this to create a full award. For applicants without external funding, the Studentship covers University and College fees plus a stipend equivalent to the UKRI rate. Additionally, international students receive support for immigration health surcharge and student visa costs.
Candidates must apply simultaneously for University admission and departmental studentships for which they are eligible. Successful applicants can only take up the award if accepted as a doctoral student by the University of Cambridge. Current PhD students are eligible only if they are already members of Peterhouse. Continued funding requires satisfactory progress reports from supervisors each July.
