PhD Application for CSIRO iPhD – AI for Stroke Detection

This industry, CSIRO and RMIT scholarship focuses on preventing stroke disability through AI-based voice analysis. The project will assess patients in emergency departments to assist in early detection of stroke conditions. The research aims to develop interactive software and AI modelling with a focus on responsible AI, specifically addressing and overcoming gender, ethnicity and age-related biases. The expected outcome is to create solutions that reduce misdiagnosis in hospitals caused by differences in gender, age and ethnicity. This opportunity enables the successful candidate to work closely with a startup company, alongside RMIT supervisors and CSIRO researchers, providing a unique industry-academic research environment.
