About This Opportunity

This PhD scholarship opportunity will develop and test novel 3D printed composite materials for next generation high performance aircraft. The aims of the research are to develop efficient and accurate computational and experimental methodologies for characterising hybrid, multifunctional 3D printed fibre-polymer composites and explore novel techniques for enhancing the fracture toughness and damage tolerance properties in order to develop next generation 3D printed composites with high strength and toughness. The scholarship provides financial support for doctoral candidates conducting research in Engineering or Science with a focus on advanced materials and structural mechanics.
