About this opportunity
This PhD scholarship is offered through the Joint Research Unit in Digital Manufacturing between Eurecat and RMIT University. The scholarship focuses on additive manufacturing of metallic materials, providing students with an international research experience. Candidates will be primarily based at Eurecat in Barcelona, Spain, spending approximately 12 months at RMIT in Melbourne, Australia. The program offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge research projects in advanced manufacturing and materials science. Research topics include fracture toughness of thin-walled AM parts examining the effect of thickness and microstructure on fracture resistance, assessing the effect of recycled powders on fatigue and fracture resistance of AM parts, and hybrid manufacturing of tailored thin plates. This scholarship provides comprehensive support for doctoral research at the intersection of materials engineering and digital manufacturing technologies.
