About this opportunity

This PhD scholarship will improve the treatment of brain cancers by targeting low ADC regions of the tumour and the use of smaller treatment margins which are adjusted as treatment progresses. The project will use AI tools for use in radiotherapy brain cancer treatments and will work with a local hospital to improve the treatment of brain cancers using an MR-Linac. Approaches to be investigated include targeting low ADC regions of the tumour (imaged by MRI) and investigating the use of smaller treatment margins which are adaptively monitored and adjusted as treatment progresses. Tasks involved in this project would suit engineering students with an interest in implementing AI into clinical practice or a medical physicist or radiation therapists with an interest in implementing deep learning tools into clinical practice.
