PhD Scholarship in Metaverse and Artificial Intelligence for Next Generation Educational Technology Platforms

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a PhD candidate to explore the application of Metaverse and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop a framework for an educational technology platform and training programs that are challenging to offer in real-world setting. The Metaverse is considered the third wave of the Internet revolution, able to support persistent interconnected online 3D virtual environments and promising to bring new levels of social connection and collaboration in education. The research aims to use the features and functionalities of Metaverse supported by Artificial Intelligence to develop a framework for an educational technology platform and training programs that are challenging to offer in real-world settings. The framework will provide a cheaper, easier, and safer STEM education, rather than risking training in real-life scenarios, contributing towards SDG 4, 8, and 11. The expected outcomes include a white paper with a framework and a prototype that can be used as a guideline for the next generation educational technology platforms based on metaverse and artificial intelligence. The successful PhD candidate will be based at RMIT Vietnam's Hanoi Campus.
