PhD Scholarship in Regional News and Journalism

This PhD Scholarship is designed for individuals with previous study or professional experience in journalism, media, or communication who have an interest in the production and consumption of local news. The scholarship is attached to the Australian Research Council-funded project DE230101233: Addressing the Crisis of Local Visual News in Regional and Remote Australia. The research focuses on regional news journalism and visual news production in remote areas of Australia. The scholarship provides funding support for a doctoral candidate to conduct research over three years, contributing to understanding and addressing challenges in local news provision in regional communities.
