About this opportunity
The Phillipa Weeks Scholarship in Law is an annual award offered by the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy to support rural, regional and remote students who want to attend ANU to obtain a degree in Law. The objective of the Award is to offset some of the financial burden of attendance at law school for students from regional and remote areas of Australia.
Funding for this Award has been provided by donors to the University, including alumni, law firms, the Weeks family and former colleagues, students and friends of the late Professor Phillipa Weeks. The scholarship is valued at $8,000 per annum and can be paid for a maximum of 5 years, with payments made per semester.
The Award is available to commencing domestic students who receive an offer of admission to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree, whether undertaken as a single or flexible double degree. Applicants must be school leavers who have undertaken the final two years of their secondary schooling in a regional or remote area of Australia as determined by the geographical classification defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS 2016 RA 2 to 5). One scholarship is offered each year, and continuation is based on academic performance.
